What is an Embedded PDF? - EZ Hyperlink
Video Transcript
In this video, we will explain how the EZ Hyperlink embedded PDF operates and how it can be a powerful feature for your business.
The embedded PDF stores all linked documents into the PDF’s metadata, as we can see here in the attachments of the base PDF. Now, we’ve already created our embedded version, and if we click on our link to Exhibit 1, we can see that Exhibit 1 opens in a new tab. Additionally, if we were to click on one of the pinpoint cites, such as Exhibit 3 page 3, Exhibit 3 opens up to page 3, per the pinpoint cite.
Every single link that is created for an embedded actually puts the document into the metadata of the PDF, ensuring that all the resources are included. Now this means that as long as the end user has the ability to open the file type, any type of native file can be included in an embedded PDF.
This format ensures that all documents are accessible from the PDF itself, and there is no need for the internet, or to have the documents sent separately in order to navigate through all the additional documents that are linked.
